Manteles africanos - African tablecloths

Hace unos años mi padre viajó a Mozambique y trajo unas telas africanas muy chulas. Un año después Piña y yo fuimos animados por mi padre al cual le había encantado el país. Y fue un viaje increible. Y por supuesto nos vinimos con un montón de telas. Allí se llaman capulanas y principalmente las utilizan las mujeres como vestimenta, para llevar a los niños... Fue realmente complicado decidirnos entre la gran cantidad de estampados y colores, como podéis ver en las fotos.

 

Con las telas nos hemos hecho faldas, vestidos, bolsos y también manteles. Hoy he estado arreglando una de ellas para unirla a la colección de manteles. Aquí podéis ver los resultados. 

 Some years ago, my father traveled to Mozambique and brought some really cool African fabrics. A year later, Piña and I went, encouraged by my father whom loved the country. It was an incredible trip. And, of course, we came with a lot of fabrics. They are called capulanas and women mainly used them as clothing, to take the kids ... It was really hard to decide between the many prints and colors, as you can see from these photos. The fabrics have become in skirts, dresses, bags and tablecloths. Today, I was sewing one of them to join it to our collection of tablecloths. Here you can see the results.
